December 19, 2024

HARRISBURG – Rep. Lee James (R-Venango/Crawford) announced the State Transportation Commission (STC) approved $1.14 million in state funding to go to Webco Industries, Inc. in Oil City for a critical infrastructure investment project.

The funding will be used to build a brand-new rail spur and install new rail car unloading and loading equipment. This project will add 700-800 feet of rail spur on to Webco's property. Additionally, a gantry crane will be purchased and utilized for the unloading of large 20-23-ton steel coils from rail cars. Volumes are estimated to range from 20-30 rail cars per month.

“Webco Industries has a proven track record of success and has the experience and expertise to execute this project with excellence,” said James. “I am thrilled to see this project funding approved, which will result in a positive boost to our local economic development.”

According to James, Webco Industries employs approximately 225 employees in the Venango County community and 1,450 employees nationwide.

The funding comes from the Rail Transportation Assistance Program (RTAP) and the Rail Freight Assistance Program (RFAP).
